GMB Akash

GMB Akash’s passion for photography began in 1996 when he discovered that he has the gift of developing interpersonal relationships with the subjects that he saw through the lens of his camera. Since then, Akash has been engaged to articulate the experiences of the voiceless and to bring their identities to the forefront. Akash holds a number of international awards and his work has been featured in international publications. His photographs are regularly exhibited internationally. GMB Akash founded the First Light Institute of Photography, Bangladesh, in August 2013.

Reto Albertalli

Reto Albertalli

Swiss native Reto Albertalli, who lives in his home canton of Ticino and in Geneva, studied art in Lugano and at the Photography School in Vevey. After graduating in 2003, he co-founded and served as the director of the Phovea agency. His clients include private individuals and companies as well as the New York Times, Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ), L’Hebdo and Rolex philantrophic projects. His photos have won national awards and have been exhibited internationally.

Eman Mohammed 

Eman Mohammed

Eman Mohammed is an award winning photojournalist and TED fellow. Eman is a Palestinian refugee, born in Saudi Arabia and educated in Gaza City Palestine, where she started her photojournalism career at the age of 19 in 2006. Eman’s work focused for the past nine years on documenting the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Her work was published in the Guardian, Le Monde VICE, Washington post Geo international, Mother Jones and Haartez. Eman holds a number of international awards and she exhibited her photos in many countries including London, New York and Amman. She is currently based in Washington DC.

Tomas Munita

Tomas Munita

Tomás Munita, born in Chile in 1975, is a documentary photographer primarily interested in social and environmental issues. His work focuses on Latin America, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Munita holds a number of international awards and his photographs are shown in exhibitions internationally. Munita’s work regularly appears in major publications such as The New York Times, Geo, Time, Courrier International, and others. He is currently based in Chile.

Kuno Schläfli

Kuno Schläfli

Kuno Schläfli was born 1957 in Switzerland. Having started to shoot photos as a teenager, he partly financed his academic studies of Geography and Social Anthropology as a news photographer for the „Solothurner Zeitung“. He worked all his life in international cooperation, mostly for Swiss Development Cooperation. Photography remained important in his life, also during the eight years he lived in Africa. His fields are engaged coverages, portrait, and multimedia-products.

Nicole Zachmann

Nichole Zachmann

Nicole Zachmann was born 1966 in Zürich/Switzerland. She attended the School of Design in Basel/Switzerland, followed by journeys and stays in Morocco, the United States, Turkey and Spain. She then studied at „Bayerische Staatslehranstalt für Photographie“ in Munich/Germany. From 1988 to 1998 she worked as a freelance photographer in Basel, including stints for „Koma Fotografie" with Tobias Madörin and Niklaus Buergin.  She was then awarded a residency in Shabramant/Egypt. She completed her studies at The London International Filmschool and at the SAE Technology College in London/England. Nicole Zachmann lives in Zürich.
